 >  Working from home
Introduction

This toolbox provides tips for setting up the workplace to work from home. In addition, a number of options are given for what you can do if you experience (physical) problems while working from home.

In this period of measures to limit the consequences of the coronavirus, one of the measures is to work from home as much as possible. This means that you are no longer in the office where we have set up an ergonomic workplace for you, such as office chair, height-adjustable desk, adjustable screen and ergonomic aids such as a mouse. In addition, we can call in an expert with the help of our prevention officers.

Risks > What can happen?

Complaints of the Arm, Neck and Shoulder are often referred to as CANS (in Dutch ''KANS''). These are the risks that are the result of screenwork and incorrect setting up of the workplace.

Zo richten we dus niet onze werkplek in!
Measures > What do you need to do?
  • Chair height: Feet flat on the floor, knee makes an angle of 90-110 degrees.
  • Table height: At elbow height so you can sit relaxed.
  • Armrests just below the tabletop.
  • Screen height: Top of screen slightly below eye level.
  • At least 1 arm's length away from the screen.
  • Avoid prolonged laptop use because you will automatically work in a bent posture with negative strain on the neck, shoulders, and back;
  • Work in line as much as possible so that your head is not unnecessarily strained;
  • Use a separate keyboard and mouse;
  • Vary the work sufficiently so that you do not sit in the same position all day;
  • Leave your workplace regularly (climb stairs / get a drink, etc.). Increase your concentration and mental fitness;
  • Be creative to set up your workplace and carry out your work healthily during this period;
  • Don't have a Unica laptop, but do need one? Please contact your manager.
Discussion > Discuss it with your colleagues!

Talk to each other about the following:

  • What do you run into when it comes to your home office?
  • Are you getting enough help to solve this?
